In 1413, he became King of England, and two years later defeated the French in the Battle of Agincourt. Five years later, the peace treaty granted him the French king’s daughter in marriage as well as the promise to be the next French king. French forces rebelled against him and he died, in France, while there for another battle. The Shakespearian play about him has twice been directed by two famous British actors: Kenneth Branagh and Laurence Olivier.
